What and Who is Important to Me

The most important person in my life is my husband, Chuck. We have been married for sixteen years. Without his support and encouragement, we would not be where we are today. Click here for a picture of us.

Another important part of my life was my dog Nick. He is a Chesapeake Bay Retreiver who joined us in 1993. After my previous dog passed away, I decided to walk dogs at the animal shelter in Durango, Colorado. Nick was the first dog I walked. Until January, 2002 (when he died), we took walks along the beach most mornings. In May, 2002, Sam joined us. He is another recue dog and also a Chesapeake. He was a challenge at first, but is becoming my close companion.

Chuck and I moved here from Durango, Colorado with a four-year stop at Texas A&M in College Station, Texas, which is where I attained my Ph.D..We enjoyed skiing at Purgatory Ski Resort and hiking in the mountains and canyons and among the ruins.

Both Chuck and I love living here in San Luis Obispo. Nearly everyday one of us will enthusiastically say to the other "Can you believe we live in such a wonderful place?!" We have a wondeful community of friends and stay quite active working on our home and exploring California. I love watching the sun set over the ocean. Last spring, we went down to Lompoc for an exciting jump.

I received my undergraduate degree in accounting from Fort Lewis College in 1990. My master's degree is from Colorado State University.

I grew up in New Mexico - The "Land of Enchantment." My parents, Paul and Kay, still live in Tijeras, New Mexico. My father retired early so he could pursue his ski and bike addictions full-time and my mother is a gentle person who enjoys her family, friends, and dog.

One of my two sisters, Penny, owns and operates a bed and breakfast called Three Tree Point in Seattle with her husband and two children. The views from their place are spectacular.

My other sister, Debbie, lives in Durango with her husband and four children. She and her husband have an electrical contracting company.
