Lecture 2

The Trial

In this lecture we will follow the course of a trial inside the courtroom. This will enable you to view a trial (see below) as well as lead into Lecture 3, when we'll discuss the entire process of a lawsuit from beginning to end.

Materials: Read Miller & Jentz, Chapter 2 (Dispute Resolution) and my summary of the Trial Process. This problem is a fact pattern we'll use during lecture, but you'll also need to read it before taking the quiz. These are the slides I will use during the lecture.

Assignments: There will be a Trial Assignment  given after class; we'll discuss that during lecture.

Quizzes:

       Quiz 1 will be available from 0800 on 25 Sep until 1800 on 27 Sep. Make sure you have read all the material for this lecture as well as that for Lecture 1.

        Quiz 2 will be available from 0800 on 30 Sep until 1800 on 2 Oct. This will cover exclusively the material from this lecture.
