Lecture 17

Product Liability

Product liability is a highly specialized area of tort law of great interest to the business community. The general effect of product laws is to reverse the general requirement for the plaintiff to prove the defendant's liability   in product cases, the defendant (manufacturer/seller of a product) is effectively required to prove the safety of the product or that the plaintiff caused the injury. It's almost but not quite a case of guilty until proven innocent.
