How to do the Final

Home

The final is optional. If you don't take it, you get the grade currently posted. If you do take it, you get the grade you earn on the final; I will disregard your quiz scores. If you do worse on the final than you did on the quizzes, I reserve the right to leave your quiz score in place.

The final will consist of 12 (ish) questions, grouped into several categories. You must answer four of those questions, no more than one from each group.

THE FINAL IS OPEN NOTE, OPEN BOOK. Laptops are OK, but no internet access is allowed.

The questions are just like those on quizzes 14 & 19; i.e. multiple choice with the right answer noted. Your job is to tell me why the right answer is right, and why the wrong answers are wrong. Remember that what I’m looking for is an indication that you actually understand the particular area of law covered by each question (and keep in mind some of the questions may cover multiple areas). There is no minimum/maximum length, but you will have roughly 45 minutes per question, so I expect more than a short paragraph.

If you are worried about the format or you abilities, try answering a complex question off one of the quizzes. Bring your answer to me next week during office hours and I will grade/critique them.
